World Of Hyatt Free Online Points Transfers Live: How They Work & Limits

There hasn’t been a whole lot of good news from World of Hyatt as of late, though a positive change has just gone live — it’s now possible to transfer World of Hyatt points between members online, at no cost.

World of Hyatt’s cool new points sharing feature

As of today, Thursday, October 15, 2026, World of Hyatt has introduced free online points transfers between members. This is a change that was promised earlier this year, back when Hyatt announced its award chart changes. We had been told this would launch later in 2026, so it’s nice to see this finally live.

World of Hyatt points transfers between members can be initiated at this link, and there are very limited terms associated with this:

  • Both the sender and recipient must have World of Hyatt accounts that have been open for at least 60 days
  • Points transfer at a 1:1 ratio, starting at a minimum of 1,000 points, in increments of 500 points
  • Members can transfer up to 525,000 points per transaction, and may transfer or receive up to that many points across accounts per calendar year
  • Members are limited to making six free points transfers per calendar year
  • To complete a transfer, the sender must provide the recipient’s first name, last name, email address, and World of Hyatt number
  • Points are generally transferred within 24 hours (often nearly instantly), though some transfers may require additional review, and could take up to 10 business days

Over time, we have seen Hyatt make it really easy to transfer awards online, ranging from Guest of Honor Awards, to Suite Upgrade Awards, to Club Access Awards, to Free Night Awards. It’s nice to see online points transfers made possible just as seamlessly.

Prior to this, points transfers between World of Hyatt accounts were possible, but required filling out a form. The process was far from instant, and you could only combine points once every 30 days, “in order to have a sufficient number of points to redeem a particular award.”

How to transfer World of Hyatt points online

The process of transferring World of Hyatt points between members online is super straightforward. To start, you can either follow this link, or go to your account overview page, and go to the section that reads “Gift your points more seamlessly.”

There you’ll first want to select how many points you want to transfer, using the slider.

Then on the next page, you’ll need to enter the account information for the account you want to move points to.

Then you’ll just need to confirm the details, and that’s it! Honestly, this is an easy process, and I think the limit on how many points you can transfer annually is completely fair, so I’d consider this to be a very nice improvement.

Bottom line

World of Hyatt has just introduced free online points transfers between members, which is an exciting development. This is an easy process, and restrictions are fairly limited. You’re just capped at moving 525,000 points per calendar year, and you can make up to six transfers per calendar year. I’d say that’s totally fair in striking the balance between giving members a useful new functionality while minimizing the potential for fraud.

What do you make of Hyatt’s online points transfer feature?

Lucky it’d be really interesting to get your thoughts (maybe an article idea?) on how you view WoH now that all the changes have come through. I appreciate that Lifetime Globalist means your perspective will be a bit different than someone still on the 60 night hamster wheel, but still I feel the changes have been pretty big. Personally I’ve stopped chasing Globalist after several years of it and become a free agent - the loss of SLH stung a lot, but the pricing devaluation sealed the deal for me

Hope they add some sort of 2FA for transfers. I can see hackers having a field day with this otherwise.

I hope they've put a bit more thought into it, and maybe allow Globalists (or even lower elites) to have a higher transfer cap.

Prediction: This is not going to end well for Hyatt and their will be severe restrictions in place soon.

When we finally regulate these pseudo-currencies, one obvious consumer protection should be free online points transfers between members. The fact that you cannot do this already with members of your own household is pathetic. Hope this goes well once it’s live.
