WestJet is known for its viral marketing videos, and the airline has just released its 2021 Christas Miracle video, so grab a tissue…

WestJet’s Christmas Miracle: “A Wish Come True”
With WestJet’s Christmas Miracle concept, the Calgary-based airline publishes a video annually that spreads some sort of Christmas cheer, typically in the form of giving gifts or uniting families and friends. More often than not, the videos make me cry, or at least make me have to work hard to hold back tears.
Here’s how WestJet describes its 2021 Christmas Miracle video:
Real people. Real stories. From lockdowns, porch visits and postponed reunions to missing holiday traditions, Christmas 2020 created distance for everyone. As a company built on care and connection, we wanted to help Canadians make up for lost time by granting the Christmas wishes that matter most: connecting you to your loved ones.
I don’t want to give too much away, but WestJet asks a bunch of people on the street what they are missing the most around the holidays. With lockdowns and travel restrictions, many people say that they missed loved ones the most. And well, I’ll let you guess what WestJet does for them. 😉
You can see the nearly five minute video for yourself below. I’d recommend watching until the end, because there’s a nice extra little surprise there.
How does this compare to WestJet’s other videos?
WestJet’s Christmas Miracle video this year is touching, and something many can relate to, given how much time people have spent without family over the past couple of years.
I still think WestJet’s best Christmas Miracle concept was the 2013 one, where the airline essentially engaged in real-time giving over the course of a flight.
There have been several other good ones, but nothing quite like that. In addition to the Christmas Miracle videos, WestJet is also known for its hilarious April Fools’ videos. The carrier’s 2012 video about child-free cabins was pretty hilarious.
Bottom line
WestJet has unveiled its 2021 Christmas Miracle, whereby the airline helped people connect this holiday season. As usual, WestJet did a great job with this. I always enjoy the carrier’s Christmas Miracle and April Fools’ videos, as both are entertaining in their own ways.
What do you make of WestJet’s 2021 Christmas Miracle video?

Except they just fired all their non-jabbed employees.
Holy crap! They're so nice!!
WOW!! I had no idea that West Jet ever did this...definitely brought tears to my eyes...people helping people!!! Share the joy!!!
Yahoo!
Thank you for another Christmas Miracle to help people have time to enjoy families during these rough times.
So many missing family. What a great happy advertisement this year! Booked my flight with West Jet to hug my 8 year old granddaughter I haven’t seen in 2 years in Costa Rica!
So many missing family. What a great happy advertisement this year! I have booked a flight with West Jet to see my daughter and family in CR and hug my 8 year old granddaughter I haven’t seen in 2 years.
The right gift for this year, nothing more important in Christmas than family, I’m one of the biggest fans, love what you do even in difficult times, all the employees must feel proud.
Westjet your breaking me up. This one with the daughter and mum....a friends daughter is in JNB...so this really struck home with the ban in place for her.
That was the first WestJet Christmas miracle video I’ve had the pleasure of watching. Here’s hoping WestJet extends my travel bank credit, since they seem to be in giving mode and sparing no expense at that.
That was awesome. And of course brought tears to my eyes. We haven’t seen our family for 2 1/2 years but hoping to do so in the spring of 2022 to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary.
I'm not crying, you're crying!! :) What a wonderful video and I love watching what they do every year! Thank you for sharing.
WOW, in this time of uncertainty and not being able to see friends and family. This is the most amazing surprise and corporate gift ever!!
THANKS WESTJET.
The caption notes that the video was posted 7 years ago? I thought it was odd that no one was wearing masks.
It’s lovely but honestly, I think they need to do the basics first. Answer the phone.
Brought tears to my eyes! So perfect for the world we are in at the moment with so many missing family! Westjet has such heart and spirit! I gotta say they make me proud to be Canadian!
The real miracle will be someone booking a flight and Westjet not changing or canceling the original booking.
Every dang year they get me. Just beautiful.
Matt...your not alone. Westjet really got it right this year!!!!
you really didn't have to make me cry in my office at work!
