Video: Cat Flies Across The Atlantic On A Private Jet

I don’t think I’ve ever been this jealous of a cat before…

Cat flies the Comlux SkyLady across the Atlantic

Comlux, which is a Zurich-based company specializing in private aviation, posted a video on its social media of “special 4-legged guests living their best life up in the sky during a transatlantic flight.” In the cute 30 second video, the adorable cat can be seen stretching near the windows, and even looking outside.

There’s not much context here, probably by design. Due to Comlux’s private nature, public flight tracking isn’t available for this jet, so we don’t even know what transatlantic route the flight operated.

Presumably the jet wasn’t chartered for the cat, but rather the cat’s family simply took their pet along on this swanky flight. Hopefully the cat was able to enjoy Meow Mix’s finest caviar selection on this flight.

The ability to take the family pet on a flight is one huge benefit of private aviation, since I tend to think that putting pets in the cargo hold is rather cruel, and there are significant size limitations on in-cabin pets when traveling on airlines.

What kind of a private jet was the cat flying?

This video was filmed on Comlux’s SkyLady, which is a Boeing 767-200ER wide body private jet. The plane was first manufactured in 2001, and was initially operated by the government of Kazakhstan for about a decade. Then in 2011 it was taken over by Comlux, and finally in 2020 it was fully refurbished, bringing it up to its current standard.

The plane has a range of 6,700nm, and can seat up to 55 people, though I imagine most people chartering the plane are flying with significantly fewer people than that. The plane features a living room, dining room, bedroom, and much more.

Comlux is the same company behind the Crystal Boeing 777-200LR. The initial plan was for the plane to operate “air cruises,” though in reality it has been used more for one-off charters.

Bottom line

Comlux posted a cute video of a cat enjoying a transatlantic flight on a private jet. We don’t know a whole lot else, but goodness it’s adorable (and I’m usually more of a dog person).

", since I tend to think that putting pets in the cargo hold is rather cruel, " All the more reason to leave pets at home. Animals don't need to be in the cabin unless they are legitimate service animals.

Maybe you are a hypocrite which is no different than "putting pets in human made structure is rather cruel"

Unless you mean, All the more reason to NEVER HAVE pets. Animals don't need to live with humans unless they are legitimate service animals.

Could it belong to Harry and Meaghan? Possibly they were busy with their lectures on climate change and poor kitty had to fly solo?

Hey, if I (or you) could afford such luxury I (or you) surely wouldn't hesitate to travel this way

When I moved from Tampa to Seattle with my cat back in 2013, I got the upgrade to first class where he sat at my feet in his little carrier. Now I always joke that he isn't flying unless he's flying first. ;)

If you're worried about sea ice that much then please, by all means, inform John Kerry and Al Gore that their private jets are no longer allowed.
    THAT should save the planet.
Bet you won't though, because like most liberals you won't admit when you're the problem.

The comments posted here by the humans about somebody's cat are hilarious. Sour snipes are why smart people stay private. Humans more entertaining than the cute cat story. Thanks.

Have we all become idiots ??

Noticed a flower pot with extremely poisonous to cats Lilies, unsure if owners know this or the airline staff messed up in making sure the environment for such a precious cat is safe.

I guess with four legs, you need alot of extra legroom.

I'm sad that there's no mention to the cost of that trip.

LOL, cat videos have made it to OMAAT.

I wouldn't be jealous of this cat. This has to be the most generic, resale ready interior on a private airliner I've seen. Safe, sensible and soporific.

As even a few particles of lily pollen, or the leaves, or water from a vase with lilies can be lethal to cats....maybe they should rethink this marketing film.

I was going to say the same thing - lilies and cat in the same room is a very dangerous combination.

The flight went from Puris, France to Furidelphelphia.

    Tip your wait staff...

The carbon pollution from this flight led to the loss of about 12,000 square feet of Arctic sea ice.

    Disgusting.

Why do you hate green plants?

Why do you call their main source of food a "pollutant"?

Without green plants, Earth would look like Mars.

      Disgusting.

I performed the combustion chamber diagnostics and inspections on both aircraft :)

"Then in 2011 it was taken over my Comlux"
I think you meant "by"? Or are you the secret owner of Comlux ;)
