We’ve known that this was in the works, but Air France has just opened its latest outstation lounge, in the new Terminal 3 at Frankfurt Airport (FRA). It’s also the first lounge in the Schengen area of the terminal, which is exciting.

Air France Lounge Frankfurt Terminal 3 details
On September 1, 2026, Air France opened the doors to its new lounge at Frankfurt Airport. The lounge is operated in partnership with Global Lounge Network, and is located in the Schengen zone of the airport’s new Terminal 3.
The lounge covers nearly 500 square meters (5,400 square feet), and has seating for close to 120 guests. The lounge is described as bright and spacious, with panoramic views of the airport runways.
Air France is pretty consistent with its lounge design, so you can expect the carrier’s signature color palette, with shades of blue, white, and red. Other design elements include the Air France logo, its winged seahorse, and a selection of vintage posters from the airline.
The Air France Lounge Frankfurt is open daily from 5AM until 9:30PM. In line with SkyTeam lounge access rules, it’s open to SkyTeam business class passengers (including those on Air France and KLM), as well as SkyTeam Elite Plus members. At least as of now, there’s no indication that this lounge will be open to Priority Pass members.
The lounge features several different sections, including a dining area with a culinary experience centered around French cuisine, which can seat up to 50 people. There’s also an exclusive area for Flying Blue Ultimate members, featuring cocoon-style seating.
For context, Air France also had its own lounge in the old Terminal 2 (which has since closed), and this one looks significantly better, given that it has the new design style.
How Frankfurt Airport Terminal 3 lounges are shaping up
Terminal 3 is Frankfurt Airport’s new terminal, which is home to nearly all non-Star Alliance airlines at the airport. The terminal was inaugurated in the spring of 2026, though as you’d expect, not all lounges were immediately ready to go.
With this latest development, where do we stand on lounges?
- In the non-Schengen area of the terminal, we currently have the Emirates Lounge, the Priority Lounge (open to Priority Pass), and the SkyTeam Lounge (open to Priority Pass if flying a SkyTeam airline); on top of that, a Qatar Airways Lounge is currently under construction, and should open in the not-too-distant future
- In the Schengen area of the terminal, the Air France Lounge is the first lounge space to open; it remains to be seen if any other lounges open in the Schengen area, though in fairness, there’s not all that much demand, since Iberia is among the only airlines that’s left without lounge access under the current arrangement
Bottom line
Air France has opened its new lounge at Frankfurt Airport Terminal 3, and it’s the first lounge in the terminal that’s located in the Schengen zone.
It’s great to see this lounge open, since it’s the first lounge in the Schengen portion of the terminal, and on top of that, it’s also much nicer than the old Air France Lounge Terminal 2. I look forward to checking out this lounge at some point!

IB most likely uses (and will do so for the long term) the AF lounge, just like they have and continue to do in MUC since many years

I was flying out of there on the day it was meant to open few weeks ago but got postponed, glad to see it finally open. The SkyTeam lounge at FRA is pathetic (and required passing border check twice).
