Update: We have a booking at Camino Kings Cross for 5PM. It will be a very casual standing-room setup, with space for ~30 people. Since it seems like people will be arriving and departing at different times, hopefully that’s enough room. Setup will be order at the bar, pay as you go or run your own tab if desired, etc.
James will be there by 5, I will be there as soon as I drop my bags at my hotel. We both look like our pictures, except I have pinkish hair right now.
See you tomorrow!
I’ll be in London next weekend for Frequent Traveler University, and as James lives there now the timing was perfect for me to arrive a day early so we could meet face-to-face.
As we were making Thursday dinner plans, we thought it would be nice to grab a drink beforehand, which then evolved into seeing who else would like to discuss miles and points over a beverage, so here we are.
This is very last-minute, and is going to be very casual, so if you are interested in meeting up near King’s Cross on Thursday evening between 5ish and 7ish, please comment below (using a valid email address).
Along those lines, if you’re familiar with a place that could comfortably accommodate a decent-sized group without requiring deposits, minimums, a single tab, or other formal arrangements, please share! We do have a cocktail bar in mind, but the viability of that space depends on how many people might be joining.
This is not where we’re going, this is in Melbourne, and probably wouldn’t be ideal for this situation, but I think you get the idea
We mainly want to keep this as informal as possible, especially since we’re doing this on short notice and I’ll have just flown in, but also because that makes for better conversations. Once we know how many people to expect we can choose a spot, and I’ll update the post and send out an email.
Also, if you’ll be in London next weekend and would like to attend FTU, tickets are still available for £149 using code UKFTU100. I’ll be speaking about aspirational travel, award booking adventures, participating in an AMA, and joining a general panel, and there are other great sessions as well.
And if neither works out, hopefully we’ll catch you next time!
It was lovely to meet you many of you this evening - thank you for coming!
Hey folks, sorry for the delay, but with all the interest it took a bit longer to confirm a space.

Is this happening?
I realize that Tiffany is probably on a plane but trying to plan my Thursday.
Yes me, I work in the area
I'd be interested, if there's still room.
Booking office is a great space! Would love to meet you all there.
I'd be interested in attending. Just a thought though - does it have to be at Kings Cross? We could keep with the aviation theme, and visit the Virgin Atlantic bar at the O2. It's unlikely to be busy on a Thursday night, so we may even get the place to ourselves!

Would love to come! :)
Definitely in!
Hi Tiffany,
I’m London-based and would love to meet you guys and some of the other readers. Will do my best to make it along (on the early side) to say hi.
The Lighterman is a good venue, as many have suggested. Alternatively the largest and most dramatic hotel bar around there is the Booking Office at the Renaissance St Pancras Hotel - very cool space.
Interested! Unclear whether I will be in London on Thursday but if I am, I will attend.
I'll be there!
Happy to join you for a drink.
Corrected my email address
Hi there... I’d definitely be up for meeting.
Jamie
Hi, I would be interested in joining as well depending on how big the group is. Cheers
Very intrigued by this.
I would definitely be up for meeting
Would love to come!
I am in London next Thursday and would love to attend
I'm in London next week so this is great timing :) count me in.
Oh no, the 10 of May..I am leaving London on the 9th for AUS! Sad, I am missing it..I do want to meet Tiffany and James..the question if they do want to meet me??
Will try to make it work.
Really hope this works out! Perfect timing too because I’m leaving London a few days afterward.
I'll be in Spain but Tiffany I think you guys should definitely look at the Lighterman as suggested above - especially as the weather is likely to be ok.
Hope this comes together, I'll definitely pop in.
I live very near to there and read this site most days. I’d love to come if I can make it.
Count me in for some Kings Cross action
hiya, would love to join the London meetup as I started with OMAAT for my journey on aspirational travels. Plus Tiffany, you crack me all the time.
We need to make this a regular thing in different cities around the world!!! :D
I'd love to meet up!
Second vote for the Lighterman. the outdoor area is fantastic
Yes!! OMAAT is pretty much burned into my screen at work, I’m sure my boss will be thrilled to hear I’m ducking out to head across town.
I live close to Kings Cross so this would be a fun thing to attend
Great idea! I’m London based so please do send me the details and I will try my best to make it.
I'll be flying into LHR Thursday afternoon for my 3 free nights at the Savoy. Thank you Fairmont Visa. Hope to get a invite.
@ michael -- Hah, it's not intended to be invite-only, more of a straw-pull, but I'm a bit surprised at the response!
Yes, I’ll be in town and would love to join.
Hi. Living in London and interested.
Count me in. Thanks.
would love to pop by that day!
I’d love to meet everyone from the blog! I’ve read OMAAT for as long as I can remember and if there’s every an opertunity where all members come together, I’d love to be there (:!
Would love to join!
An intriguing offer. Would love to meet some of the team (although not sure I can get there from the office much before 7pm). But I'll try my best.
I’m in London!
Hi, yes would like to come.
Finally living in London has its perks
I’d love to come and would be happy to arrange a venue!
@ Ryan -- That would actually be fabulous! Sending you an email now!

Would love to come!
Hello
I work in London, I’d love to come along!
J
Great idea, I'd love to come, but unfortunately I an't make it as I'm in the Middle East for business.
Hi
Yes I’d love to come along.
I've read your blog for years and would love to meet! I live in Detroit but believe I could make the trip work for next Thursday.
@ Ethan Nemeth -- Hah, that's very sweet, but please keep in mind it'll just be James and I, not Ben ;)
I'll be in London next week, please send me the details!
Would love to join!
backtrack....misread that! my bad! <3
you want us to leave our email addresses in comments?.....think about that
@ Andrew -- Oh gosh, please don't! We can see the email addresses on the backend :)
Me too
Agree with @Izz 100%
Hi Tiffany, I'm on the team over at JuicyMiles and would be happy to meet up. Just let me know.
I'd be up for it!
Yes we do need a NYC OMAAT meetup with Lucky and crew.
Boy, this just screams the Lighterman.
I live in London and would love to come along. The hotel bars round there aren't that big, so depends on how many people. A fee good pubs are nearby which could be a better option and probably a bit cheaper on the bar bill...
I'm based in London and would love to meet up with you fellow points/aviation enthusiasts, give me a shout once you know what the plan is :)
Omg so sad. I’ll be in London Friday! Miss you all from San Francisco by a day!
I will be in London and interested in meeting up.
We gotta get an NYC OMAAT meet up!
Won't be in London then, but on May 17-19 to pick up my items from the Heathrow Auction. So if James is free to say hi then... would love to.
What a pity I'll not be in London, as I live just in King's Cross area! Have fun guys, and if you'd tell what you mean by "decent-seized" I may be able to help :-)
@ William Perugini -- Sounds like anywhere from 20 to 50, so a flexible space is ideal.
I would love to meet some of you all!
