Amazing Deal: $1,000 La Compagnie Business Class Fares Between New York & Paris

Filed Under: Great Deals, La Compagnie

La Compagnie is the all business class transatlantic airline that started flying in mid-2014. They operate flights between Newark and Paris using Boeing 757 aircraft (though they recently placed an order for some A321neo aircraft, which they plan to take delivery of in 2019). I reviewed La Compagnie back when they first launched operations a few years ago. They also briefly flew between New York and London, though ended up canceling that route.

While La Compagnie doesn’t have the best business class product, I have to give them credit for offering exceptionally good value. They consistently have more attractive business class fares than what’s offered by any other airline in the market.

In addition to their “normal” good pricing, they sometimes offer further fare sales, and they just announced one of their best sales ever. La Compagnie is offering a “Blue Friday” fare sale, with $1,000 roundtrip business class tickets between Newark and Paris.

The sale is valid for flights booked between November 17 through 21, 2017, and is valid for travel through the end of the schedule, though availability is limited, so not every day will have availability. These fares are bookable directly on La Compagnie’s website, and there’s no promotion code required.

That’s a great deal, and especially worthwhile for those who aren’t otherwise loyal to any one airline. That’s only marginally more than you’d often pay for economy in the market, so at that price it’s tough to go wrong.

Bottom line

$1,000 for roundtrip tickets between New York and Paris is a heck of a deal. La Compagnie’s business class isn’t the best in the world — the seats are angled and the food is fine, though not amazing. However, at these prices you won’t find a similar value with any other airline. So if you’re planning a trip from New York to Paris, I’d seriously consider taking advantage of this deal.

Last year we saw La Compagnie offer a similar fare sale around the same time, but other than that we haven’t seen a sale like this in a long time.

Anyone plan on jumping on these $1,000 roundtrip business class fares between New York and Paris?

  1. @James: if you don’t consider this “business class”, then what would you call it?

It’s definitely a big step up from premium economy. Or do you know of any other airline that would offer the same type of seat in premium economy?

I’d say $1000 for this route in this type of seat (whatever you may call it) is hard to beat.

  2. “After dinner I decided to recline the seat and see how comfortable it was.

    It wasn’t.

The La Compagnie seat wasn’t angled flat, but rather angled in three different directions. Within a minute of reclining I put it back in the upright position.”

    Guess who wrote that?

  3. Ben, it’s a good deal, but no an amazing one, right?
I say this because an awesome deal would be one that happened with British Airways about 2/3 years ago. $1,000 r/t from London to lots of places in business class. I mean, I was able to travel in C classs and generate tons of miles. 🙂

  4. This is a great deal. Just wish I had the time to take advantage of it. There is something very intimate about the plane as there are so few passengers on it. Boarding and deplaning are very fast. Every passenger is a premium passenger and you are not made to feel like a second class traveler as you might in premium economy (or even business in a three class plane). There is way more room than on many of the old UA business configurations, even if UA is lie flat. You can feel really cramped on some of their planes.

The whole atmosphere is very relaxing unlike even business on some of the US carriers. I am not saying I would choose this over a regular business (although frankly BA is not much better in the hard product), but it is super value at that price.

  5. Ben you wrote such a bitter, snarky review of La Compagnie in 2014 even doubting the airline’s viability. Now here you are touting their fare sale. Clearly La Compagnie is a niche airline offering a unique level of comfortable service for a leading price. As the expert, your readers are looking for perspective. As it has been more than three years since you have flown La Compagnie perhaps linking us to your thoughts in 2014 are confusing when you are offering up what a deal this offer is.

  6. @Ben: The world’s best premium economy is still BA Club World: Seat density of a premium economy but with lie flats! Love it for the right price.

  7. Just found my excuse to go to Paris and booked it. Booking for October and the dates I wanted were not on the website, but were available through Kayak and with the airline by phone.
