Save $60 At Hyatt With Amex Offers (Targeted)

The Amex Offers program frequently has promotions for hotel stays, which can save you money or earn you bonus points for stays you’d make anyway. Amex has just rolled out its latest hotel offer, which is targeted, though anecdotally lots of cards seem to be eligible (almost all of my cards earning Membership Rewards points show this offer).

There’s a new targeted Amex Offer for $60 back when you spend $300+ at Hyatt properties in the US. The offer is valid for stays at participating properties through June 30, 2021.

The promotion can be used across one or multiple stays, so you don’t need to spend $300+ during a single stay, but rather cumulative spending qualifies. All room rates and room charges (including taxes) should qualify towards the $300 spending requirement. You also need to book directly through Hyatt (Hyatt Privé would also qualify for those purposes), meaning that you need to be billed by the hotel, rather than through a third party.

This promotion is valid for stays at most Hyatt brands in the US and US territories, including Park Hyatt, Miraval, Grand Hyatt, Hyatt Regency, Hyatt, Andaz, Thompson Hotels, Hyatt Centric, The Unbound Collection by Hyatt, Hyatt Place, Hyatt House, Destination Hotels, Joie de Vivre, Caption by Hyatt, and Alila.

This promotion excludes gift card purchases, World of Hyatt points purchases, and spending at MGM, Hyatt Residence Club, Small Luxury Hotels of the World, and Exhale Spa.

Note that if you have any Chase cards, there also seems to be a targeted Chase Offers deal that could offer savings at Hyatt.

Regardless, you could combine either of these offers with any of Hyatt’s current promotions.

Bottom line

Getting a statement credit equivalent to 20% back on a stay at a Hyatt in the US is a great opportunity, especially given the lack of brand restrictions here. If you have any Hyatt stays coming up over the next couple of months, be sure you check if you’re eligible, and register if so.

While I generally don’t recommend using an Amex card for Hyatt hotel stays, I’d certainly make an exception here. I’d ideally hope to see the offer on the Amex Green Card, since it offers 3x Membership Rewards points on hotel spending, allowing you to maximize points while also maximizing this offer.

Also keep in mind you can always split payment across multiple cards at check-out for Hyatt stays in order to maximize your rewards.

Do you see this offer on one of your Amex accounts, and if so, do you plan on taking advantage of it?

  1. Thanks for the heads up! This is available on my plat and gold card and P2’s plat. We have a stay at the Grand Hyatt San Diego on a AAA rate (20% off) next month, so this is great timing with an additional $120 off between the 2 of us!

  2. I received this on several cards, including 2 Platinums. I assume, however, that if the Hyatt nights are booked through AmEx’s own FHR portal, that wouldn’t trigger the credit. If anyone has evidence to the contrary, that would make this more appealing.

  3. This is wonderful, we have a Hyatt stay coming up. Amex offers are amazing!

@Lucky, do you know why Chase offers are so terrible compared to Amex’s?

  4. I have two Amex cards, Hilton Aspire and Bonvoy, no offer for me which is understandable that I would not get a Hyatt promo on a Marriott or Hilton co-branded card.

  5. Got it! On plat and green…obviously went with green and will use it shortly with Prive rate booked by fordbtravel!

  6. @Allen Can you choose to pay at the property instead of ahead of time? While not for Hyatt, I have stacked FHR and Amex offers before at a Waldorf Astoria by going with the pay at property option. Also, at the property, you just have to pay with an Amex (I used my Aspire card in that situation).

  7. Remember if it serves you, you can ask the desk staff to charge $301 to your AMEX card and then put the rest of the charge on a different card (e.g the World of Hyatt card.) Did this before, they were happy to do it.

The T&C’s state that the qualifying spend can happen over several charges, so don’t feel compelled to do it all at once.

We have a weekend planned at the Huntington Beach Hyatt Resort & Spa, perfect timing!

  8. Have a stay booked at the Park Central San Francisco. It’s part of Hyatt, but not really any of the brands mentioned. Hopefully it will count.

  9. I did not receive the Hyatt offer through my Chase cards but did through AMEX I definitely will use it up to $300 and then the rest on my Hyatt card!

  10. I got this offer on my green AMEX.

I’m struggling between Green and the card I need to meet min. spend for SUB (CSP).

  11. This offer was showing on my Amex Patinum. I added it and stayed in a Hyatt. Now it is not appearing on my added offers nor it shows on my savings nor appear as a credit on my account statement. Agent says she doesnt know what offer I am talking about since she doent sees it either. Can anyone that has not used it please send me a screeshot of what the actual offer stated?
