The Amex Offers program frequently has promotions for hotel stays, which can save you money or earn you bonus points for stays you’d make anyway. Amex has just rolled out its latest hotel offer, which is targeted, though anecdotally lots of cards seem to be eligible (almost all of my cards earning Membership Rewards points show this offer).
There’s a new targeted Amex Offer for $60 back when you spend $300+ at Hyatt properties in the US. The offer is valid for stays at participating properties through June 30, 2021.
The promotion can be used across one or multiple stays, so you don’t need to spend $300+ during a single stay, but rather cumulative spending qualifies. All room rates and room charges (including taxes) should qualify towards the $300 spending requirement. You also need to book directly through Hyatt (Hyatt Privé would also qualify for those purposes), meaning that you need to be billed by the hotel, rather than through a third party.
This promotion is valid for stays at most Hyatt brands in the US and US territories, including Park Hyatt, Miraval, Grand Hyatt, Hyatt Regency, Hyatt, Andaz, Thompson Hotels, Hyatt Centric, The Unbound Collection by Hyatt, Hyatt Place, Hyatt House, Destination Hotels, Joie de Vivre, Caption by Hyatt, and Alila.
Regardless, you could combine either of these offers with any of Hyatt’s current promotions.
Getting a statement credit equivalent to 20% back on a stay at a Hyatt in the US is a great opportunity, especially given the lack of brand restrictions here. If you have any Hyatt stays coming up over the next couple of months, be sure you check if you’re eligible, and register if so.
While I generally don’t recommend using an Amex card for Hyatt hotel stays, I’d certainly make an exception here. I’d ideally hope to see the offer on the Amex Green Card, since it offers 3x Membership Rewards points on hotel spending, allowing you to maximize points while also maximizing this offer.
Also keep in mind you can always split payment across multiple cards at check-out for Hyatt stays in order to maximize your rewards.
Do you see this offer on one of your Amex accounts, and if so, do you plan on taking advantage of it?
