Amex Offer: Save $60 On A $300+ Hilton Or Curio Stay

In the interest of full disclosure, One Mile At A Time earns a referral bonus for anyone that’s approved through some of the below links. These are the best publicly available offers that we have found for each card. Update: This offer for The Business Gold Rewards Card from American Express has expired. Learn more about the current offers here.

For those of you not familiar with Amex Offers, it’s a program available through most Amex cards, where different cards are eligible for different savings and bonus offers. In many cases the offers can be huge, and more than offset the annual fee on a card.

To view Amex Offers, go to the bottom of the account summary page of any American Express card, where you’ll see all the offers you’re eligible for. These offers come in different forms, including discounts and even in some cases bonus points. A new offer has just launched that’s very similar to one of the offers we saw earlier this year, which is great for any Hilton loyalist.

At the moment there’s a targeted Amex Offer for $60 back when you spend $300+ at Hilton Hotels & Resorts or Curio Collection properties. The offer is valid for stays at participating properties through January 31, 2018. The promotion is only valid for stays at US properties, and isn’t valid at any Hilton family brands other than Hilton or Curio.

Given the relationship between American Express and Hilton, we’ve seen quite a few Amex Offers from them over the years, so this is only the latest option from them that can be valuable.

Do keep in mind that this promotion is targeted, though it at least seems to be pretty widely targeted. For example, in my case I see the offer on The Platinum Card® from American ExpressThe Business Platinum® Card from American ExpressThe Business Gold Rewards Card from American Express OPEN, and The Blue Business℠ Plus Credit Card from American Express.

Boulders Resort & Spa, a Curio Collection property

Keep in mind that if you book a stay costing significantly more than $300, you can always ask them to charge multiple credit cards at check-out, so you put $300 on an Amex card, and then the residual on another card that offers the most bonus points for your stay.

Was your account targeted for this Hilton Amex offer, and do you plan on taking advantage of it?

  1. Similarly lucrative: My AX Surpass currently has an offer for $10 statement credit when purchasing Hilton GCs of $50 or more, up to 4x.

  2. I got the offer on my Amex EveryDay Preferred card which also has:

Spend $350 or more, get $70 back at Waldorf Astoria & Conrad,
Spend $200 or more, get $40 back at DoubleTree by Hilton
Spend $175 or more, get $35 back at Hampton by Hilton & Hilton Garden Inn

Oddly enough, these offers are not available on my AMEX Surpass card! It seems there is a competition between the 2 cards over my Hilton business but if I have to book, I’m going for the cash back over the extra surpass points.

  3. Got it on 1 (personal plat) of 4(including surpass) amex cards. Again, why such offers are ALWAYS US ONLY? Aren’t AMEX always bragging how global its users are?

  4. AMEX is not going to offer this on Surpass, 12x points + $60 would be too rich.

Note also this is only valid for US Hiltons, and then only if booked through Hilton. So no 5x points by booking through AMEX travel.
