Which airlines publish their full inflight menus and/or drink lists for a particular flight in advance? I imagine I’m not the only person who likes to look this up prior to traveling, so let me first discuss why it might matter, and then I’ll share my list of airlines offering this.
In this post:
Why it’s nice to see your inflight menu in advance
Admittedly there’s huge variance in terms of the quality of inflight food. In economy, you’re lucky if food is better than something in the freezer section of your local supermarket, while in premium cabins, some airlines actually serve decent food that one would be happy to pay for in a restaurant.
For those of us who look forward to flying, particularly in premium cabins, it can be fun to know in advance what food and drinks will be served on your flight:
- It can be nice to get a sense of the general service flow on the flight, how many meal options there are, etc., so that you can plan if you should eat before the flight or not
- If you’re flying in a premium cabin on an airline with a great alcohol selection, maybe you want to research some of the wine or liquor options in advance, so that you can make a game plan
- If you have dietary restrictions, it can be useful to see if the standard menu contains any options that work for you, or if you should in fact order a special meal
I know I always enjoy previewing a menu before a flight if it’s something an airline makes available, so I’m curious if I’m the only one…

Airlines that make menus available in advance
With the above out of the way, which airlines publish their inflight menus in advance? I’ll share the airlines that I know of, and then please share other airlines that I’m missing, because I’m sure I didn’t get them all.
Before I share the list, a few things to note:
- I’m talking specifically about airlines that publish menus and/or drink lists in advance, and this is separate from airlines that let you pre-order specific parts of meals; for example, American, Delta, and United, all let you pre-order main courses when traveling in premium cabins, but they don’t publish their entire menu in advance, so wouldn’t make the list
- I’m talking about airlines publishing the standard menus of meals that are included, so that excludes airlines publishing their food and drinks for purchase menu; it also excludes airlines that just publish sample menus, or airlines that just publish what main courses will be available
- I’m going to include airlines that make these menus available to the public, though I know there are some airlines that let you view menus exclusively when you’re managing your own reservation (I know that’s the case for EVA Air, and maybe some other airlines?)
Below are the airlines I know of that publish full menus in advance, along with the cabins for which it’s offered, how far in advance you can view menus, etc. Please let me know which airlines I’m missing.
Aer Lingus
Aer Lingus publishes the menu for long haul business class flights in advance at this link:
- Technically this is a sample menu, though it seems to reflect what’s being served as of the current rotation
- There’s no way to know exactly when menus will change, so I’d view this more as a general guide than a guarantee of what you can expect, especially if travel isn’t imminent

Air Canada
Air Canada lets you see the menus for all flights in advance:
- You can see the menu for all flights for the next seven days
- Menus are available for business class, premium economy, and economy, assuming there’s a complimentary meal service on the flight; however, you can’t see the drink list
- You can view business class menus at this link, view premium economy menus at this link, and view economy menus at this link

Japan Airlines (JAL) lets you see the menus for all flights in advance at this link:

Bottom line
It’s nice how some airlines publish their full menus in advance, so that you can know what you can expect once onboard. While not that many airlines offer this, it’s more than in the past, and it’s a trend that I hope we continue to see.
Anyone else appreciate when airlines publish menus and drink lists in advance? Any airlines I missed?
@Ben United does publish appetizers, mains and desserts for all classes when you check Flight Status, though only a few days in advance.
Saudia has menus for all cabins https://entertainment.saudia.com/your-flight-menus, when it works.
Ethiopian has menus if you know the flight number https://www.ethiopianairlines.com/us/services/on-board-services/in-flight-meal-menu
And Kenya Airways https://www.kenya-airways.com/contentassets/9227332656e443ddaeba9f0a38454508/long-haul-flights.pdf. It is a 35 page PDF that you must scroll through to find your flight. bt it is there.

You select your meal in VS Upper five days before.
The point of this article really pole vaulted over your head, didn’t it…
Other airlines are AA, AF
I traveled between Helsinki and Frankfurt round-trip in early November and business class meals were allowed for pre-selection.
Surprised Qatar is not on this list. They publish the entire menu (roughly) 14 days prior to flight for premium cabins but it can only be viewed on the app, not on the website.
United does not publish a menu because no one knows what the food is.
Except they actually do publish them.
You missed Saudia :)
FYI - Finnair does publish menus for both directions. Below where it says “Menus per Route” and above the list of destinations, there is a selection for “To Helsinki” and “From Helsinki.” From Helsinki is the default but click on the other and it will show the opposite menu.
Also, JetBlue posts the menu for the next cycle 15 or so days before the menu changes, which is bi-monthly.
SWISS also offers pre-flight selections for first class, don't know about biz.
LH now publishes menus for all flights longer than 2 hours, not just long haul flights.
See the icky food , and then buy a lunch to-go from the shops . (Preferably a highly spiced and smelly curry.)
If it's morning, go with masala dosa (or a 'hopper' if in Sri Lanka).
Singapore Airlines has very recently began publishing inflight menus for flights 4 months ahead.
Singapore airlines serves a lot of smelly fish congee for the slurping ones .
Ben. Go back and check the link for Delta's menu. It shows the menus for all classes of service - both domestic and international - not that there's much to choose from on a short domestic flight. But it does show 'for for purchase' options where that's available on longer flights .
He said at the top he was excluding BoB menus.
I think it's good that UA doesn't even merit a mention on this story until they invest more into their catering, from the crap it is now.
I gripe with one example: if you pre-order in intl business or domestic F, all it does is choose from what you would've been offered onboard anyway, and in the same available quantities.
So, if people already chose the chicken up to the quantity determined, no...

So, if people already chose the chicken up to the quantity determined, no more chicken. How ridiculous is that?
The whole point of pre-ordering is to give people more choice, and more quality. Don't even fantasize that they might give you additional nicer and more choices than if you waited until on the plane. That's beyond UA's imagination.
If they really want to come off as premium, why don't they just think this through a little bit.
Why would he mention UA? They don’t publish their menus to the public in advance.
They actually do publish them in advance. You can see them in My Flights and in Flight Status
https://www.britishairways.com/assets/pdfs/information/food-and-drink/first-class-menu.pdf
That is a singular menu applying to select flights based on the list of flight numbers on the cover page. Do you happen to have a link that displays all available menu cycles?
United actually does on the App - Flight Status info has menus published.
True. Just ordered some 'halibut' for an upcoming Polaris flight. Yum? Hope it's good...
And if you don't pre-order on United long-haul business class, they go around asking you for your first, second, and third preference, then only the Global Services get first choice, 1Ks get second choice, and everyone else gets 3rd choice, just for spite. @MaxPower, is that policy?
Except thats only for people who have made bookings, not for anyone who just wants to look at the menu. You clearly missed the point of this post.
I think it is a good idea and one airline that doesn't, which is surprising is Air New Zealand - any idea why?
Cassic Kiwi move. They’re probably still running on the “she’ll be right” philosophy: why spoil the surprise when half the fun of long-haul is playing “Guess That Protein” at 35,000 ft?
Other '1990,' wow, there you go again, saying things I might say. I don't use " quotes as much, though, more of a ' guy.
As for true Kiwis and meats, it's all about the lamb, son.
I’m pretty sure Turkish publishes menus, at least in Business Class. It’s a link from manage my booking
But the point is this a list of airlines that publish their menus without you having to book a flight.
Yes correct. I have a flight next week and I can see the menu for my flights
That Delta ‘meal’!!
United publishes their menus within the app's Flight Status feature...does that not count for the parameters of your essay?
(Which one can see even if one isn't on the flight in question.)
KLM does not?
They don't need to. It's usually just stroopwaffle and Bols anyway. A balanced Dutch diet.
Oh, and is this the O.G. Eskimo, or the impersonator? It's getting confusing because someone is indeed using Eskimo, Jessica, Julia, and now my moniker as their own. Sorta fun, but also a little confusing. At least the guy using mine is not too far off from my own typical 'hot takes.'
Qatar Airways publishes menus about a month in advance and you can select the main course too.
Link?
There is no "link" per se. To look at the menu for your flight, go to manage your booking and look for "Explore your menu" button. When you click on it, it will take you to the menu/pre-order screen.
Then it seems you clearly missed the point of this article. How sad.
Sad? Don't be a maroon.
While Air France doesn't publish its actual menu in advance, it may be worth noting that J pax can pre-select their desired option for the main course as of 15 days before the flight on the AF website and/or app.
As Lucky pointed out, so do other airlines but they like Air France don’t qualify for this list.
The link to Air India's menu has not worked for over a year! Ridiculous!
@ Aniljak -- Hmm, I just managed to pull up a menu at that link without issue (I searched JFK to DEL for next week, out of curiosity).
Are you surprised?
Manage booking section on the app has the menu listed for upcoming flights. It works surprisingly well
Does this have any additional/updated airlines from the last time you published this?
