For those of you not familiar with Amex Offers, it’s a program available through most Amex cards, where different cards are eligible for different savings and bonus offers. In many cases the offers can be huge, and more than offset the annual fee on a card.
To view Amex Offers, go to the bottom of the account summary page of any American Express card, where you’ll see all the offers you’re eligible for. These offers come in different forms, including discounts and even in some cases bonus points.
At the moment there’s a targeted Amex Offer for $40 back when you spend $200+ at DoubleTree by Hilton properties. The offer is valid for stays at participating properties through December 31, 2017. The promotion is only valid for stays at U.S. properties, and isn’t valid at any Hilton family brands other than DoubleTree. You need to book directly with DoubleTree to take advantage of this, and what matters is that you’re billed during the promotion period.
Do keep in mind that this promotion is targeted, though it at least seems to be pretty widely targeted. For example, in my case I see the offer on The Platinum Card® from American Express, The Business Platinum Card® from American Express, The Amex EveryDay® Credit Card from American Express, etc.
Given the relationship between American Express and Hilton, we’ve seen quite a few Amex Offers from them over the years. For example, at the moment there are also targeted Amex Offers for stays at Hilton hotels (rather than one of their other brands). Some members can even stack earning 3,500 Membership Rewards points and $50 back if they spend at least $300 at Hilton hotels.
Keep in mind that if you’re able to register this offer for multiple cards, you can always ask them to split payment methods at check-out. In other words, if you have a $400+ DoubleTree stay, you could potentially take advantage of this offer on multiple cards.
Was your account targeted for this DoubleTree Amex offer, and do you plan on taking advantage of it?
