Review: Plaza Premium Lounge Heathrow Terminal 2
I had a 6:50AM Brussels Airlines flight from London Heathrow Terminal 2, so I got to the terminal at around 4:45AM. Terminal 2 is used primarily by Star Alliance airlines, though I've reviewed all the Star Alliance lounge options, including the lounges of Air Canada, Lufthansa, Singapore, and United. This time around I figured I'd…

That lounge has a lot of paid services including shower and spa (their massage services are pretty good imo)
Some of the bar items are also chargeable
Looks like breakfast is better than the all day food items
Its actually exact the same food in all T2 lounges due to same catering provider, Sodexo.
"Do I follow-up and state that I’d really prefer one from that machine?"
Yes.
This is actually a terrible lounge at most times due to over-crowding. On occasion, there was no free seat. I've waited 10+ minutes at the bar, etc. I strongly recommend using the *A lounges if you have access (the nicer ones are in the satellite, but if you're flying short-haul, LH SEN it is; LH SEN is in the back section of the LH lounge).
@Paul +1 I have also noticed photos taking significantly longer to load and occasionally some don’t load at all, generally just before or after embedded adds.

The Lufthansa lounge in LHR T2 is catered by Do&Co.
And if you block scripts you end up with huge blank spaces under text before the picture appears, seems to be some update on the site that requires scrips now days. Happened last month, or early this month I think
Just visited their lounge in T3. Not as nice as this one and the same food. The scrambled eggs were easily the nastiest ones I've ever tasted. The lunch selection wasn't bad, the nacho bar was unusual. It still beats hanging in the terminal and any American Domestic Lounge
Ben - the showers are in a separate corridor. At the reception desk if you let them know you want one they'll direct you - it's to the left of the desk before you enter, as opposed to the right where the main lounge entrance is.
Does that "Insect-o-cutor" bug killer machine thing really need to be right by the coffee machines? Rather unappetizing, eh?
Dark and dingy with mediocre food offerings. Doesn't even offer toast at breakfast. Not a patch on the United Club with its great views and cocktails.
Lucky - regarding your coffee dilema.
You can ask for them to make it for you but my guess is they only have someone with barista skills during very limited hours.
The person who sent you to the machine probably did you a favour. They had no idea how to make the damn thing.
I have also noticed the pictures loading very slowly. I thought it was my connection, so I guess I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one experiencing the loading delay.
Apparently there are certain restrictions to using the shower. When I recently asked for one, they asked what I used to check in, and after stating Priority Pass, they took me to the room. But I've heard that other ways of accessing the lounge do not allow for a free shower.
For what it's worth images have also been loading slowly for me, glad I"m not the only one experiencing it
Visited this lounge in September and while crowded, I was still impressed. Check in via Priority Pass was straightforward but reception really struggled to see if the spa was free.
Once in the spa, the treatment was great.
Was able to find an armchair and enjoy some decent food. Line at the bar was only ever 1 other person. I flew on a Friday afternoon.
This looks just like the PP lounge in BNE, oh apart from you can get a seat in this one ..........
How about this:
"Thanks for pointing me towards the other machine. But I really enjoy coffee that is well-made and tasty, and I appreciate the skill that goes into making one properly. Especially frothing the milk of a cappuccino; it can be tricky to do it well. So if there is someone here who has been trained to use the machine, I'd really like to try a coffee made that way please."
See what they say!
I have read that alcoholic drinks have to be paid for, is this true?
I will be flying Malaysian airlines business class to KL & this is the lounge that I have been told that I will be using.
From what I can understand this also is a pay on entry lounge.
I have flown many airlines in the last 40 years but this is the first time with Malaysian Airlines, in future I won't be using them if this is the type of lounge that we are paying business class prices for.
My fault you'll say I should have checked first.
