Cathay Pacific has been making quite a few changes to their premium cabin catering lately, which is positive news on the whole. Had it two weeks ago on our return flights HKG - ORD. It was sea bass but a different preparation than the one pictures above. Sadly - it was awful. Much worse than the AirAsia buy on board meals I hate earlier that week.

But! It was just one dish. Maybe others are better.

Alitalia serves great pasta in business class (as you would expect) - they come through with a pasta cart for the "primi" and you can choose which one you want (or have a bit of both).
I agree that usually on planes the pasta dishes just taste terrible, and the pasta is way over-cooked. The only exception may be when it's ravioli and other filled pasta, which is sometimes saved if the filling is delicious.

I flew CX from HKG to SFO yesterday. I had the new caviar presentation and the Tosca menu. I kept copies of the menu and will share as part of my detailed trip report via twitter (@Orlijr) This was part of my 50th, around-the -world flight which included many F products. Let me just say, hands down, Cathay is #1, better than Singapore. The food, the service and hard product is leagues ahead of all others. I am scouring the websites for F availability for Christmas.

Will be interesting to hear some additional reports on this but I'm annoyed as my gf and I fly CX F on 8/1!

So what happens to routes that previously had only the salmon and no caviar in the starter (YVR-JFK)?

Lucky,

I want to redeem a CX first class ticket using US Dividend miles. How far I can make the CX reservation through them? Is that 331 days out?

Thanks

@ Elite flyer -- That's a great question, haven't heard any reports from that sector yet.
