@ Zzzzz -- It's actually quite cool, almost a bit too cold for the beach. Has been a steady 65-70 degrees. Absolutely perfect coming from Seattle. 🙂
@ Carl -- It's located maybe 20 minutes by car from Abu Dhabi. Drove there from Dubai, and it's about an hour drive.

I'd imagine these are pictures of a suite? How's the upgradability for non-celebrity-blogger folks? 😀
@ Thanh -- Suite indeed, as I used one of my Diamond confirmed suite upgrades for the stay.
Did you drive there or hire a driver? If you hired a driver, how did you do it and what was the cost? Looks like the perfect Winter getaway spot but is there enough to do in the area?
@ JetAway -- I hired a driver through the hotel (I was leaving the Grosvenor House Dubai), and it cost about $100. Seemed worthwhile compared to renting a car.
Saadiyat Island itself is still very much developing, though it's less than 20 minutes from Abu Dhabi, where there's lots of sightseeing to do.
@ dmodemd @ Michael -- The rate was 1,000AED. Not cheap, but seemed worthwhile to use an expiring suite upgrade.
That's $272 a night - pretty good value for that spectacular suite - is Dubai a dry country by the way?

Dubai is one of 7 emirates within the UAE, it's not a country. Sharjah is the only emirate which is completely dry, the others have alcohol to varying degrees.
Lucky, you have a lot of firstworldproblems, always facing expiring certificates lol. I still don't understand the big deal about suite upgrades. It's nice but wouldn't to out of my way for it. I guess it's your job to stay at the top of the top though.
