Yes, this option while booking is very convenient, but it has been there for sometime. I stayed at Bellagio earlier in Jan and earned both MLife points as well as Hyatt Points

@Lucky Is there a way to get Hyatt points from an MGM stay last month?

I believe somewhere in the terms it says you must provide both your mlife and GP number at check in.

@Lucky do I go to Hyatt Gold passport or Mlife for the missing Hyatt points for my stay?

As for booking MLife rooms, the best practice I have found is to book via the Mlife VIP phone number rather than online. This is for two reasons:
1) They have access to comps that you might not see online
2) When you reserve a room online you have to pay the first night upfront as a deposit. Booking via the phone number eliminates needing to do this

I'll just be interested in seeing whether or not they automatically post still. I've had at least 8 MLife stays this year. About half of them have posted automatically and the other half have taken not one or two emails -- but months of emails with 3-week response time to get credited. I have finally gotten them, but it was enough of a pain to disincentive future MGM properties.

Hi Lucky, do you know if Mlife room charges put on a Hyatt credit card would earn 3x points (the rate for Hyatt spending) or 1x points (the rate for everyday spending)?

I recently booked 2 hotel rooms in Vegas for a bachelor party and charged an expensive suite to the Citi Premier and got the VERY expensive 4th & last night of the stay for free... then put all the incidental charges on a cheaper regular room and paid for it with my Hyatt card. I can confirm that is takes some wrangling to get all the Hyatt points credited for the stay; it's 3 months later and I'm still working on it.

@Matt - According to the FAQs on the Gold Passport site, you won't get the 3x points if you use a Hyatt card.

Another benefit is that mLife hotels in vegas will now charge $10/day for parking but if you have platinum hyatt you get matching gold mLife which exempts you from the parking fees.

Honestly, the best benefit of the entire relationship is Hyatt Diamonds getting to skip the GREAT UNWASHED line at Bellagio's buffet during peak periods.
At Wynn, I just pay a few bucks and you can skip the horrid line.

I was able to match Hyatt Platinum to MLife Gold last year through the website with ease... but then when I reached Hyatt Diamond, I tried to go through the same process and match Hyatt GP Diamond to MLife Platinum, everything looks great, but after months of waiting and trying several time, i am still showing as MLife Gold. Has anyone else had this issue?

Have you tried setting up your MLife Plat status at the hotel MLife location? We believe this works. You do have to bring/show your Hyatt Diamond card to have the agent help with this.

We were dropped from the MLife /Hyatt partnership rolls without notice. Do we have to register yearly with United Club Card to activate our Hyatt Platinum status and then contact MLife to activate our Gold Status via matching every year? (That's what we found out recently as none of our programs were connected anymore since late 2015... argh.)

Hi, just curious if anyone staying at MGM properties on the strip has tried the Mlife gaming app for Facebook or smartphones? It's called MyVegas and it's a great way to get tons of Sin City perks-- that are really and truly free! My sister and I have been going to Vegas for many years now (actually our whole lives actually haha) but the past 6 years, we have enjoyed a ton of great benefits earned on the MyVegas app like free rooms (Aria and Bellagio are the favorites), free food (Aria buffet is a go-to fave), comped Freeplay on machines, comped experiences (like admission to the Ice Bar with free shot of vodka and plush loaner coat) and these things are really and truly free even without wagering one dollar! Of course, the MyVegas app will incessantly ply you with offers for in-app purchases, but you don't need to buy anything to get benefits. You do have to work your way up the levels of the game and be willing to click on occasion to collect your free "chips" but it's a fun game and nicely done, so I don't mind it when I'm looking for a time suck. Recently, we scored and spent our earned "gold coins" on a free 5-day cruise booked on Royal Caribbean (an occasional MyVegas partner) though it was scheduled for May, so obviously Covid destroyed that plan! As for Vegas trips, sometimes we pair a single night booked through AmEx's Fine Hotels and Resorts with 2 nights comped MyVegas, and the hotel is happy to link our stays, so we don't even have to switch rooms. And then we can take advantage of the FH&R 4pm late checkout, free breakfast, and generous amenity credit as well as our MyVegas comps, and it makes a town that has become crazy expensive into a practically free getaway! Our very first MyVegas experience was at the Mirage in 2014, and without wagering even a dollar, they treated us like valued high rollers (even waving the resort fee-- which typically doesn't budge from the bill!) So MGM's MyVegas app is a great example of getting something for nothing. And one step further, if you sign up for a free MLife players card and gamble even a little, MGM will start sending you email offers, sometimes for free rooms on future visits. I typically get one night offers at less glamorous MGM properties but my sister routinely scores offers of 3 free nights at great hotels. Even though Covid is making trips like this something we can only hope to do again in the near future, you can load up on rewards now, and when it's safe, sin city will be hopping again, and you can take on the town, loaded up on comps!
