Just keep paying the AF for Aspire and you basically 'earn' lifetime Diamond that way. As long as you use your FNC to break-even, it kinda pays for itself!
@Fred Have you heard of DCS? He believes Lifetime Diamond is the best membership out there. He once tried to make everyone envious that he achieved this status with Hilton by saying that lifetime Diamond is better than just Diamond. It may be true on paper but actually it doesn’t make much of a difference. He believed it is better than lifetime globalist and he always argued with others about how Hilton is so much better than Hyatt. With this guy, anything Hilton is good. He tried to tell me that the reason why HGI in HK charged so much points for a room was that it was a premium room but it was really just a standard guest room on a high floor and that hotel was so bold to list it as premium. I have stayed at that hotel a few times so I know all about it whereas DCS must have never stayed there or he would have realize it is better not to make stupid comments and know that there isn’t a premium room there. They do not have a suite or a junior suite anymore. And yeah, they used to only have one suite and one junior suite which were next to each other on the same floor (the top floor). DCS would go off on you if you made any bad comments about Hilton even if he has never stayed at that Hilton hotel.
What's the F@#ing point? In 15 years of being Diamond, many earned (and some via Aspire), I've not gotten one single Suite Upgrade. Not one, not even during the dregs of COVID when I was one of about 4 people staying in the Sukhumvit 20 Hilton in BKK. 200 nights one year, all paid and not one suite upgrade. Its the most worthless status. Now I rock Accor and Marriott and its constant upgrades to amazing rooms. Seeya Hilton!
I confess, I miss DCS‘s unhinged obsession with Hilton.
Even as the program was actively devaluing the breakfast benefit in the United States, he just moved the goal posts to say it was better elsewhere in the world. That type of brand loyalty and defense doesn’t come easily.
@Ryan That really sucks hard. After so much loyalty but you got nothing in return. I have definitely gotten suite upgrades at times but all of them were in Asia not in the U.S. or Europe.

But yeah you are correct. Even if Hilton was wrong or if he was wrong about Hilton, he would defend Hilton nonetheless. Even if he never stayed at that Hilton property he would still argue with you telling you Hilton is the best. I do stay at Hilton and I do not hate Hilton but DCS just ruins it all. Nothing is ever perfect unless you put DCS and Hilton together.

Yes its not easy. And if you are a woman with a Middle Eastern sounding name, there are some people in Texas who will make you go over more hurdles and more hoops to receive that status despite that you earned it in full 18 months before.
I wrote to Chris Nasseta, took a few months, but he came back and personally called my friend and gave her Diamond Lifetime. Yes women get used to this treatment thru their lives, but we both thank Chris for stepping up and doing the right thing.
Hilton has certainly gained many more years and nights of stays at Hilton. A smart and good businessman he is.

As a lifetime Diamond who got there right before they starting giving out credit card diamonds (grrr), it's nothing like it once was when I'd just book an entry room and know I'd get a great upgrade. But I will say there are a few hotels that really notice the lifetime thing. I expect that there won't be tons of diamond reserves and we'll still get treated well at those places.
But, my wife is an "ordinary" globalist and she wins every time on upgrades and service of me -- Marriott Ambassador and LT Diamond...
