A380 Extravaganza: Coworth Park London (Ascot)
Our overnight in London was pretty quick. We got out of the airport at around 9PM and wanted to be back at the airport by 11AM the next day, as I wanted to experience the Concorde Room (little did I know...). That wasn't enough time to justify going into London, so I was content with…

The breakfast looked great. I guess it's a place you may not want to return, but good that you experienced at least once?
Great post ! I love this report. The hotel is so different than the usual chain ones you reviewed.
@ wwk5d -- Absolutely, I'm happy to have experienced it, and on the whole it was a great hotel. Just a bit out of my budget and I didn't find it to be a great value. But just about anything is worth experiencing once, in my opinion!
@ emilie -- Thanks!
I'll be staying at Coworth Park for exactly the same reason (overnighting in London before flying to Vienna the next day), although we are arriving in the afternoon at 1:10 p.m. so will get a chance to enjoy the entire afternoon. We'll also be getting a site inspection.
How about the Waldorf close to the heathrow airport? Have you been there before? I am thinking about maybe going there for my LHR transition (Hint hint: that Waldorf is really cheap, with a price of 99 pounds per night)
Thanks for posting this. Am actually looking around at weekend getaway options for when this cold/snow/rain winter lets up a bit! --John
Great report- beautiful pictures. Seems you had your airport getaway at least 🙂
The Hilton Heathrow has gotten good reviews and is located in Terminal 4. Cat 7 property for those with Citi Hilton stay certificates to burn.
Back in October we stayed at the Runnymede on Thames. One exit away from Heathrow. Bought under a wedding package price for a night and rack rate for the other 2 nights. Great breakfast buffet. Had an operating river lock right out the back door of the lobby. Didn't see the indoor pool/spa area until the last night, that was incredible!
The terminal 4 Hilton is nothing special but certainly one of the better options at Heathrow. I still prefer the Renaissance for the views its offers of the runway.
Lucky, I've had good luck at the Sofitel Heathrow T5. It's going on five years now but is well managed and always clean and well maintained.
Like a couple of the previous posts, i liked this review as well. Something different, looks like a beautiful property, and i like it when you spotlight the Virtuoso/FHR properties.
I don't see a sofa bed, so where did your friend stay? Could have been an embarrassing situation!
@ Donald -- We shared the bed. I have no qualms sharing a king bed with a friend, family member, or just about anyone else.
Since you are always insulting British food, I take it this is an exception as both your meals here look fantastic, and you say the service was excellent!
snow in ascot no way never snows here or was that extra by the hotel.FOR AMERICANS that was a joke]
