While the lounge was a bit disappointing, the airport itself looks quite good.
WAW airport actually IS really nice, went through there on an MR a while back (although flew KLM so their contract lounge wasn't much to write about).
Try fighting through that line as a Star Gold. Even the gate agents wouldn't let me pass until I actually flashed my card since it didn't show up on the card stock
The HON Circle section in the lounge makes it look like you are there on display for everyone else.

a. The passport story reminds me of do not croos lights in Germany. The Germans will stop and stare at the light waiting for permission to cross. Being the ugly American I will often proceed if there is no traffic. Of course they all follow.
b. The lounge furniture looks like some upscale Ikea.

@ Mike: I amusingly do the opposite in the US. At "Don't Walk" lights, I will wait. When people on the other side of the street cross anyway, I usually stare at them. More often than not, they step back onto the curb.

Mateo: I also booked a Business award ticket on the 787 in August but it has since changed to a 767. Crossing fingers they are somehow back flying for LOT by August.
Hello. Just wanted to give you an update -- flew WAW to JFK on the 787 three days ago.
- there is now a business lounge ("Bolero") on the other side of passport control http://imgur.com/GO8ecIm
- the passport control changed... now it's diplomats+EU passports on the 5th counter
- they actually had a separate signed line for business class and elites and that seemed to work pretty well for us despite the normal Polish queuing mob scene
- loved the headroom and the quieter cabin on the 787!

I visited the LOT Polonez Lounge (the same one you visited) five months after you and the food spread improved significantly.
As for the crowd, you don't mess with folks standing in line in Poland. 🙂
