Best Cash Back Credit Cards for Groceries of November 2019

While we like to accumulate points for travel rewards, there’s no denying that there are some really lucrative cash-back credit card cards. Supermarkets and grocery stores are an especially popular category for these cards, earning as much as 6% back up to certain limits.

Note that just because you buy “groceries” from a particular merchant doesn’t mean the transaction will actually code as “groceries” or “supermarkets”. Big box stores like Super Walmart and Costco don’t typically count, for example, and tiny markets may not have their coding set up properly. Additionally, American Express cards only earn bonus points at “U.S. Supermarkets”, so you’ll want to factor that into your decision. Otherwise, here are the best cash back credit cards for groceries available today:

The Best Grocery Credit Card (2019)

There are so many great choices for grocery credit cards, especially if you’re willing to track your transactions and maximize the category limits. For simple (and lucrative) rewards at U.S. supermarkets, however, we think this is the best grocery credit card available today:

No matter your budget, using the right grocery credit card can earn you hundreds (or thousands!) of bonus points each year. Just be sure to pay attention to the exact terms, as not everywhere you may purchase food codes as grocery/supermarket spend with all banks.
