Save At Best Buy With Amex Offers

Save At Best Buy With Amex Offers

8

We just saw a new targeted Amex Offer rolled out for a popular retailer, which I think is worth highlighting.

3,000 Bonus Points Or $30 Back With Best Buy

With this new, targeted Amex Offer, you can earn 3,000 bonus Membership Rewards points or save $30 after spending $300+ with Best Buy in the US by December 31, 2019.

While this offer is targeted, it seems to be pretty widely targeted, as I see it on several cards.

If you do see both versions, I’d highly recommend going with the version for 3,000 bonus points rather than $30 back. That’s because I value Membership Rewards points at 1.7 cents each, so to me that’s the equivalent of a return of ~$51 on $300 of spending.

You can reach that spending over one or more eligible transactions, and transactions either in store or online qualify. The terms state that the purchase of e-gift cards, as well as the purchase of corporate gift cards, don’t qualify.

Use This Promo To Buy Gift Cards

One easy way to maximize this offer would be to register for the 3,000 point offer and then buy $300 worth of gift cards in store. For example, you could buy Amazon gift cards, and earn the equivalent of 10x Membership Rewards points on Amazon purchases. The terms suggest you wouldn’t qualify for this if you buy gift cards online, though.

Use This Promo For Holiday Shopping

Since the cost of many electronics is fixed across retailers, one alternative is to use this to buy something you’re wanting to buy anyway. Best of all, if you buy online you could stack this with another promotion.

At the moment several airline shopping portals are offering bonus miles for purchases. You could potentially stack the two for purchases online.

Does anyone plan on taking advantage of this Best Buy Amex Offer?

BB has iPads on sale for $80-100 off. Combine that with the Amex offer and go via the airline portal for a pretty good deal.

    I got this one...

But I really wish that AMEX allowed you to *decline* offers you'll never use to make room for new ones. Is there a 'max' offers you can accept? I only have 100 listed for me, but I don't want to accept offers I'll never use just to make room for questionably-worth-it new ones.

Better yet, AMEX should allow you to pick a category you like *most* to somewhat tailor your offers.

    @vincewy

Here is wording on my Platinum biz card

" Not valid for e-gift card purchases. Excludes corporate gift card purchases."

So single purchases of GC should be acceptable

Read the T&C more carefully, I got the 3,000 MR points on my AmEx Gold, it explicitly states Gift Cards excluded.

Thanks, Lucky. I received the spend $300 and get $30 offer. I was hoping for the 3,000 MR points, but I'll take this one.

Only see the 30 dollars back after spending 300. Was hoping for the 3000 MR points!
