For those of you not familiar with Amex Offers, it’s a program available through most Amex cards, where different cards are eligible for different savings and bonus offers. In many cases the offers can be huge, and more than offset the annual fee on a card.

To view Amex Offers, go to the bottom of the account summary page of any American Express card, where you’ll see all the offers you’re eligible for. These offers come in different forms, including discounts and even in some cases bonus points.

Amex frequently has promotions for hotel stays, which can save you money or earn you bonus points for stays you’d make anyway. Most frequently we see these for Hilton and Marriott branded hotels, presumably because Amex has co-branded credit cards with those chains. Now there’s an Amex Offer for a different hotel group.

With this new, targeted Amex Offer, you can earn $20 back when you spend $100+ at a Country Inn & Suites or Park Inn by May 14, 2019. This promotion is only valid for stays at US properties, and all other Radisson-family properties aren’t eligible.

Typically when there’s an Amex Offer like this, some accounts are targeted for cash back and some are targeted for bonus Membership Rewards points. When this happens, usually you’d get a $20 discount or 2,000 bonus Membership Rewards points (for example). I always prefer the latter, since I value the points at more than a penny each. However, this time around I don’t see any offers for bonus points.

Still, scoring 20% back on a stay at a limited service property is an excellent offer, in my opinion.

In order to be eligible for this promotion you need to book through,, by phone, or using their mobile app.

This promotion is targeted, though it at least seems to be pretty widely targeted, with the exception of co-branded hotel credit cards, which makes sense.

I see the offer on The Platinum Card® from American ExpressThe Business Platinum Card® from American Express, and The Blue Business® Plus Credit Card from American Express.

Do you have any upcoming Park Inn or Country Inn & Suites stays where this promotion could come in handy?

  1. this is so so , I currently have 40 off 175 on Hampton INN , 45 off 225 on doubletree , 50 off 250 on hilton, 60 off 200 on Hyatt place/house . All of them have as good or better return , especially the Hyatt one, 30%. Those offer are too common nowadays.
