Awesome Amex Offer: 2K Bonus Points For $50 Of Amazon Spend

In the interest of full disclosure, OMAAT earns a referral bonus for anyone that’s approved through some of the below links. These are the best publicly available offers that we have found for each card. For those of you not familiar with Amex Offers, it’s a program available through most Amex cards, where different cards are eligible for different savings and bonus offers. In many cases the offers can be huge, and more than offset the annual fee on a card.

To view Amex Offers, go to the bottom of the account summary page of any American Express card, where you’ll see all the offers you’re eligible for. These offers come in different forms, including discounts and even in some cases bonus points.

At the moment there’s a targeted Amex Offer for 2,000 bonus Membership Rewards points when you spend $50 with Amazon by December 31, 2017I value Membership Rewards points at ~1.7 cents each, so to me this is like a ~$34 return on a $50 Amazon purchase.

The catch is that like most Amex Offers, this one is targeted, and it also seems to be more narrowly targeted than some of the other offers I’ve seen lately. For example, I checked all of my Amex accounts and all of Ford’s, and only The Platinum Card® from American Express in his name has the offer on it.

So if you are an Amex cardmember, it’s entirely possible that none of your cards will be targeted. However, this offer is so good that I feel like it’s worth posting about. Many of us make most of our retail purchases through Amazon, and this is a huge return on that spend.

If you are targeted, make sure you register for the offer as soon as possible, since registration is limited (however, once you’re registered you have until the deadline to use the offer).

Were you targeted for this great Amex Offer?

  1. I’m usually targeted on at least one of the cards I “manage”. Didn’t show up on any.

  2. Same as Paul above…I have 4 cards with them, two business and two personal. Nothing on any of them. But man, I wish I sent more flowers because they’re REALLY pushing 1-800-FLOWERS these days.

  3. I frequent buys on Amazon weekly- no offer on my AMEX BizPlat card, sadly. I never check these offers, so thanks for making me look.

  4. YAY! Thanks for posting this. One card got the offer, I’ll take it!

    Your blog is awesome.

  5. I have only 1 amex card for each me and wife. Personal gold. Got it for both. Thanks lucky!

  6. Logged in and didn’t have it on the platinum. Switched to the other card, no dice there either. Switched back to the platinum intending to look through my other offers, and it showed up! For those who didn’t see it the first time, maybe try refreshing? 🙂

  7. The offer showed up on my Amex Premier Rewards Gold and a very old Amex Optima card. 4K extra will be welcome since I just took advantage of that 30% transfer bonus that they had, so I’m under 100K on MR’s now.

  8. A little less exciting, but my offer was for 3000 MR points for $150 of spend at Sierra Trading Post

  9. I got targeted for the Amazon Deal, but my Dad who is the Main Cardholder didn’t. Not sure why, but I am definitely taking advantage of this.

  10. None of my 4 cards, but my fiance got it on the Amex EP which she is an authorized user for my account.

  11. 1 out of 4 cards, the AMEX Plat.

Good to read that $50 gift card reloads work too, THEsocalledfan.

  12. None for me on my platinum card. Another reason to cancel since I have the Chase Reserve card and hardly ever have a chance to use an Amex lounge.

  13. Added the offer, received confirmation email, yet no points and no such offer in saved offers anymore…what`s going on?
