Per The Flight Deal, at the moment Air Canada has some solid business class fares between the US and India. These aren’t the best fares in the history of the world, though they are very good, especially when you consider that Air Canada offers a good business class experience.
These fares are valid both to Delhi and Mumbai. There are good fares available out of many US markets, though here are some of the best:
- Fly from Boston to Mumbai for $2,230 roundtrip
- Fly from Boston to Delhi for $2,472 roundtrip
- Fly from Chicago to Delhi or Mumbai for $2,634 roundtrip
Air Canada uses Boeing 787s for the longhaul flights, featuring reverse herringbone seats. I find their service and food on Air Canada to be excellent for a North American carrier.
On top of that, Air Canada’s Signature Suite in Toronto is top notch, as it features the best business class lounge dining anywhere in the world. Award and upgrade passengers aren’t eligible for access, though since this is a paid business class ticket you’d have access to the lounge. Make sure you plan a long layover on your outbound to enjoy this (you won’t be able to use it on your return, due to how terminals are set up).
This fare books into the “P” fare class, so see here for a listing of how many miles you’d earn by program. As you can see, most Star Alliance programs award anywhere from 100% to 200% miles for these fares.
If you do book one of these tickets and have access to US credit cards, make sure you maximize the points you earn. The Platinum Card® from American Express offers 5x points on airfare purchased directly with airlines, which is a great option if you’re booking directly with the airline. Meanwhile the Chase Sapphire Reserve® Card offers triple points on airfare purchases, and also offers fantastic travel coverage in the event of irregular operations.
If you’re interested in this fare I’d recommend booking ASAP, as this fare won’t last.
