Qatar Airways is known for their exceptional fares, in both business class and economy. I’ve highlighted some of their great fares recently, including a ~$1,780 roundtrip business class fare from Muscat to New York, which allows you to fly Qsuites in both directions.
As it turns out, you can get a further discount off the cost of almost any ticket. Per Qatar Airways’ newsletter, you can save 10% off the cost of an economy or business class ticket when you book on qatarairways.com by March 7, 2018 (even if travel is on a subsequent date). Just enter promotion code QRSUBSCRIBER at the time you make your booking.
The discount is for 10% off the base fare (not including taxes and fees), so in reality the discount won’t quite be 10% of the overall fare.
Just to give one example, let’s use this for one of the Muscat to New York business class fares I mentioned above. When doing the search I entered “QRSUBSCRIBER” in the “Promo code” box.
The roundtrip business class fare? Just 639.90OMR, or ~1,660USD all-in. That’s an insanely good fare.
The discount even applies to a roundtrip Colombo to Philadelphia Qatar Airways business class fare, bringing the cost of a ticket down to ~1,215USD. INSANE!
Anyway, no matter what kind of a Qatar Airways ticket you’re trying to book, this promotion is worth being aware of. The one instance in which this may not be the best option is if you’re trying to book a business class ticket originating in the US and have either The Platinum Card® from American Express or The Business Platinum Card® from American Express. That’s because Qatar Airways participates in the Amex International Airline Program, which is available to those with either of those cards.
By booking by phone with Amex you can save on virtually any Qatar Airways business class fare for travel originating in the US. For example, for a roundtrip business class ticket I booked earlier this year from New York to Yerevan, I saved $750 off the cost of my ticket using this benefit.
But for anything not originating in the US, or anything in economy, this 10% discount is pretty awesome, especially given that it seems to work for travel originating virtually anywhere.

Lucky, now subscribed and benefiting from Qatar Airways promotional connections has now been prescribed to close down any negative criticism
EF is showing Qsuites for ORD-DOH starting April 1, 2018, interesting!
Code doesn't seem to work anymore. Was looking st some Asia travel ex usa yesterday and today the code is invalid...
Providing concern at the Qatar on-line only “enhancement” services, here is a response to a simple Qmile award request. Privilege Care Team are obviously up in arms about the new Qatar Online Only Policy. My name is not “Print” and I’m slightly dubious about the “Hardick Lakhia” Privilege Club Team moniker. If Doha is up in arms then only Ms Alis Al Bakr can be the salvation.

Qatar economy class flights are consistently priced considerably higher than an equivalent journey with Emirates or Etihad (frequently more than 40% expensive) so this “discount” is no way attractive to the standard cattle class passenger. Struggling with the Saudi masterminded blockade and clutching at straws, the airline is well on it’s way to a Hoganistic calamity which even Lucky’s ingratiating backing will not redeem.
Thanks for this great post Lucky! I wanted to point out my experience with the Amex Platinum IAP. I once tried having them price out a QR J itinerary originating in the US, and they couldn’t find seats in the R fare class, and in fact quoted me the full fare J as the lowest price available to them. Not sure if I was doing anything wrong there...
Lucky:
Fare is also not qualifying for those based in Doha =(
But you aren't saving "10% off virtually any Qatar Airways ticket", since this 10% discount is off the base fare...
Misleading.
It would be fine if you put "Save up to...."
They're also offering 10% off in Australia for using Paypal at checkout. Promo code is PAYPALAU . Just a note, you can't link and pay with your Amex through Paypal (I already tried), it's only Visa, MC & Discover cards.
Obviously they're not making money on those fares.
