BA refuses to pay for suitcase damaged wheel

BA refuses to pay for suitcase damaged wheel

  1. Anonymous Guest

    Hello

I flew from LCY to GVA last month BC. Upon picking my suitcase one wheel was missing, less then year old Delsey Air 2. Great suitcase BTW.
Went to report the damage, got my form was told to call BA
Yesterday managed to get through their cumbersome automated answering machines.
I was bluntly told that they don’t pay for wheels
Why: BA’s definition of a suitcase is a container to transport your stuff, that function is not altered by the missing wheel.
I asked to speak to a supervisor, was told “actually you can’t only to an operator” who was very polite but strict.

Well that is it for BA as far as I am concerned. And my colleagues in the office too. We will choose other airlines.

Question: is this the same poilicy for all other airlines?

    Thanks and regards
    JMD
