Ritz-Carlton card for Marriott status?

Ritz-Carlton card for Marriott status?

  1. Anonymous Guest

I’ll be staying at a category 8 Marriott hotel in London later this year using points. I’m thinking of getting the Ritz-Carlton card because I understand that it automatically gives the holder gold status in Marriott’s rewards program. Would that status get me club level access and/or a potential room upgrade on an award stay?

If the RC card still had the 140,000 bonus I’d get it just for the points (that would take care of half my stay). The current bonus of free nights doesn’t help me since I’m staying at a category 8 property.

    Thanks for your help!
