Why are United’s flights SO expensive?

Why are United’s flights SO expensive?

I just noticed that United seems to have jacked up the cost of flights…for example DCA to ORD in June is ~$400 on United and well under $200 on American. Any thoughts here?

I know I was looking at Chicago – San Juan, PR in business over the winter season next year to get some BA tier points (140), AA was charging an eminently reasonable $428 one way, compared to UA which was $900.

I guess you have to account for the amazing service, world-class dining experience, and kind, thoughtful leadership of Sr. Kirby when looking at the price difference.

Very odd. Two weeks ago the same flights were $250 or so and now the flights appear to be the same cost for the entire month.

Hi! On Sunday 04/12 we were looking at the flight Denver-Chicago-Frankfurt on 04/18 or 04/25 and price was $550. On Monday 04/13 it became $1434 … and almost same price throughout April/May… @Lucky: is it happening because they got money from Feds?
