Upgrade Bid on Cathay Pacific ticket booked through American Airlines

Upgrade Bid on Cathay Pacific ticket booked through American Airlines

  1. Anonymous Guest

    Hi all!

I purchased a ticket from CLT->IAD->HKG->DPS through American Airlines, with the IAD->HKG and HKG->DPS legs being on Cathay Pacific. Is it possible to do an upgrade bid to the next class or use Asia Miles through Cathay Pacific on these tickets?

    Thanks!

You definitely can’t use Asia Miles to upgrade because the ticket was issued by AA. It would surprise me if there was a way for you to bid for an upgrade either via the AA website or at check-in time since, again, your ticket was through the partner – AA – and not the company flying the plane, CX.
