    I purchased 2 business class tickets on emirates from sfo to jnb. What is the best way to upgrade to first using the lease amount of miles. I have am ex miles that i can use…Thank you

    Assuming you booked directly with EK, if you go into manage your booking on their website, it should show if youre eligible to upgrade, either with cash or miles and the amount. I think that’s the only way to upgrade. You can then transfer AMEX MR points to Emirates to confirm the upgrade (transfers might not be instant though)

    Not all fares are eligible for upgrades — I believe the “blue” fares aren’t, but [USER=29]@David W[/USER] is spot-on that the Emirates website will walk you through the process. You can also call and ask them to upfare you, if you aren’t in an upgrade-eligible class.
