Question 1402

Question 1402

This has probably been covered lately (sorry been busy with other things) but what are you recommendations with regards to BA miles since they are changing redemption values in a month?

Obviously the Boston-Dublin award can be good.

Are they of much value for flights within Europe? I know short haul US flights they are considered a good value.

I have ~250,000 and am wondering what to do with them before they lose further value. Flying to/from UK generates some high taxes/fees. Any easy ways to by pass them? Or just use them on partner airlines, any recs on the best partners to use them on?

Finally do you know how easy it is to get from Vienna’s airport to the Hyatt hotel in Vienna?

@ rich — Vienna can be accessed by train from the airport, which is quite simple. Avios are also extremely useful for travel within Europe, so that’s a great use. Shorthaul flights out of the UK on BA have low fees, which is good as well. Airberlin doesn’t impose fuel surcharges on transatlantic flights, if you’re looking to avoid those but not fly Aer Lingus.
