Question 1092

Question 1092

    Hi Lucky,
I have been following your blog since pretty much after the coin deal stopped and your blog was mentioned on NPR I think. It is the only blog I follow or check back to, and I regularly note this to friends and that your blog is good/fun/worthwhile/entertaining/imaginative/thought provoking, and maybe even sometimes a little exciting! hahaha
I have decided that I want to have a travel blog that kind of follows and comments on your blog, but with my own take and situation.
I want to talk about travel, but for me, I also want to talk about trying to get some where to the level traveler that you are, but starting with not the best credit or any real credit cards or real money, but a lot of desires!
One of the first things I want to do is get enough points so that my mom and dad can go to Hawaii first class and stay for a week and have a really good and relaxing time where they are not worrying about anything. Mainly because of my dad, he has to make everything excruciating and hard and difficult, and I would love to get them to go first class where they don’t have to think or worry about anything and someone else does it. It would be pretty foreign to them sadly, which is one reason why I want to do it so badly. Another reason that my mom is actually open to going is because they were fans of the new Hawaii 5-0 with James Caan’s son! haha So, my mom would have fun seeing what she only before saw on tv! haha My mom is kind of unwilling to travel places and she always comes up with reasons why it not a good idea like boogy men. She actually does this with quite a few things. So, getting her on this trip would be great. Another reason why my mom would go is because my dad has been there twice before, and I asked her if she would go, and she said she would, but she said she doesn’t see it happening.
Another reason why I want to get her the first class treatment is because my mom regularly uses oxygen, and I think having more space and comfort would make it much easier on her, and maybe I could even get her to put her mind at ease and find out that traveling and flying doesn’t have to be an ordeal, and that, as amply demonstrated in your site, it can be a lot of fun!!
Getting her on first class would also be a powerful start to get her to enjoy the whole trip.
I was wondering if you could please tell me how I should go about making this blog?
How do I make the site? How should I host it? How do I get sign up credit from people who use my links? I was wondering if you could please tell me the ‘ins’ and ‘outs?’
    I would be so greatful!
    I think I have a good name: http://www.TryingToBeLucky.com hahaha
You or anybody could email me at [email protected]
I would love ideas about what would be a good, relaxing, safe trip to Hawaii for my parents who are in their late 60’s!
    Sincerely,
    John McIntosh

@ John — Thanks very much for reading, I really appreciate it! Sounds like a great trip you want to go on! As a starting point, have you read this post?

Hopefully that answers some of the more basic questions. I think the first thing you want to do is decide what unique approach you want to take that will differentiate your blog from others. The rest should fall into place.
