hi all! Is Qatar airways from ord to Doha the really old business class? I assume so? Timing is October 2017?

    Thanks for your help!!

Yes, its the old business class. There have been no announcements about ORD-DOH getting a new aircraft.

Currently, QR flies their A350s to JFK, BOS and PHL. All other US routes use their 777s with the old business class.

I’ll jump in here and vouch for the product. I think Qatar’s “old” 777 business class is actually one of the best products out there, especially if you’re traveling with another person.

There is just heaps of space. The seating config is 2-2-2, whereas most airlines with forward facing lie flat seats do 2-3-2 in a 777. So the seat is quite wide in bed mode and there is a good size arm rest / divider between you and the next person. It’s a bigger seat than, say, JAL’s skysuite business class, with the only caveat being that there is technically not direct aisle access from the window seats. That being said, the seats are so long that it is really easy to hop over a fully-reclined person, and if you’re by yourself just grab a middle seat.

Very helpful aussie josh. I’m aussie Mick 🙂

It looks similar to Kenya airways which I just flew. Middle seats are fine for the aisle access I agree. Thanks !!!

I have flown the same flight a few times. It’s very good. If you’re flying solo, just ask them at the gate to give you an empty sea next door. One for sleeping and one for lounging. 🙂
