I have a trip in a few weeks using American miles in J on the A380 form BKK-DOH-CAI. DOH – Cairo is sold as first class anyway so I have lounge access. Is it worth the 10,000 mile premium to go first vs Business for the BKK-DOH sector?

Sure, why not? It’s blocked for over 6 and a half hours, almost 7. I think that’s enough time for it to be worth the 10k.

i’d say go for it. Qatar first class on A380 is gorgeous. the larger seat +Krug is more than enough for me to spend and extra 10k.
