Premier Silver United transfer to partners?

Premier Silver United transfer to partners?

  1. Anonymous Guest

I am currently United Premier Silver, solely due to reciprocity with Marriott Platinum status. I have four Lufthansa flights scheduled within Europe in July. Will my benefits transfer to Lufthansa and if so, how do I ensure they do? The main one I am looking for is the Complimentary Economy Plus seating.
    Thanks

If you provide your United Mileage Plus account number to Lufthansa for mileage credit (or if you booked award tickets from your UA Mileage Plus account), then your UA status will be reflected on your ticket and boarding pass. If you are asking if you can collect miles using a Lufthansa Miles and More account and associate your UA status with the ticket / boarding class, my understanding is no. However, if you have your UA Mileage Plus card with you and you find a Star Alliance lounge that accepts Silver status for entry, you will be able to use it on the day of flight on a Star Alliance airline (doesn’t apply to UA lounges in the US).

You can find the star alliance benefits for UA status here: https://www.united.com/web/en-US/content/mileageplus/premier/staralliance.aspx. I don’t see complimentary Y+ seating listed as a benefit. You could add your FF number to your reservation and ask at check in if they are able to bump you up but I wouldn’t hold my breath on that. If you want to accrue miles in a different program you can always change your FF information at the gate.
