Oneworld Mileage Run starting cities

Oneworld Mileage Run starting cities

  1. Anonymous Guest

I’m planning my last big trip for the year to hit the EQD and EQM to keep my AA ExecPlat status (although not sure why? but I hate to start over with DL or UA!) and wondering what are the best “unique other cities” to start the run from? I was originally zeroing in on using Finnair in their J/D/C business class inventory which gives 40% EQD vs other Oneworld partners that usually give only 20-25%. I need around 5500 EQD and 26K EQM. Was focused on originating in Toronto via LHR/NYC to HEL and then on to PEK, PVG, SIN, HKG, BKK. That would run around $3500, but wondering if there are other clever routings from Europe or India to either Asia or South Africa (as an example) that might get me to the same effect at slightly better overall cost. I could position to Europe or India with a cheaper PE fare or even mileage. (Sorry for complicated question!)

But if you need $5,500 EQDs why would want to find a cheaper ticket? Or are you expecting some credit card EQDs to hit before the end of the year? 40% of $3500 with get you barely 25% of the way to hitting the EQDs

    I think you’re overthinking it 🙂

This prices out at $3,097 and no positioning required. It is 17,952 miles flown – so you book through Finnair. That is 26,928 EQMs (earns at 1.5 rate), and 7,180 EQDs (40% of distance flown).

You’d need 1 night hotel in Hong Kong, 1 night hotel in Helsinki.

I completely forgot it that the EQDs on partners are based on miles flown. This is a great itinerary for a run.

YEP, You’re right! I kinda decided the same with the Finnair JFK-HEL-SIN R/T and probably route via HKG there or back because the fare you quoted (and I find also) is in “I” vs J/C/D which gives 25% EQD vs the 40%, but it will put me over the top or very close on EQD and I will likely have one more short domestic tic before YE. But, Thanks for helping me confirm my thinking!
