I have another question Lucky. Any suggestions on how I might contact Oman Air?
My wife and I are currently stuck in Sri Lanka. We have two return tickets to Europe. One was for departure on 3rd April but, as you reported, Oman Air stopped passenger operations on 29th March. I could contact Oman Air then and the validity of that ticket was extended to 18 months from the date of purchase so we can use that later. The second ticked is for departure on 3rd June but there are now no Oman Air flights from Sri Lanka on 3rd June – there were when I booked. By going through the online booking procedure, the first flight from Sri Lanka to Frankfurt is currently on 6th June and to Zürich (our destination) on 1st July. Now comes the difficult part: I cannot contact Oman Air to discuss our problem. There is no response from any of the Oman Air staff here in Sri Lanka, I have one totally unhelpful response from Webbooking (Oman Air online) and nothing else, I have wasted two phone loads of money waiting for the main customer care phone in Muscat to answer and, despite my wife and I both being Gold members of Sindbad, Sindbad has not answered my last two emails. I am also waiting to a reply to the complaint I filed via the Oman Air Feedback page. What more can I do? You’re an expert in this field. I would be grateful for your advice.
Sorry to hear about your situation! I think this may help you out best:
Also, have you considered just using another airline to get home? Then, deal with getting your money back from Oman Air once you are safely home?
