I am flying Etihad’s A380 first class from MEL>AUH in August and depart @1040pm Monday August 1st. Instead of flying in from Auckland the night before (I get in late to AKL) I was contemplating flying Emirates A380 first class from AKL>MEL but I would get in at 740pm.
I was wondering (with no checked bags) if I would be able to make it through customs, check back in, and make it through security in time to make my flight??? Any info and/or knowledge of MEL airport/customs/security would be greatly appreciated! Also, I am a U.S. citizen if that makes much of a difference.

I frequently transit MEL, and provided your incoming isn’t late, you should be fine.
