Anonymous GuestHi – I am currently flying a Z fare on Lufthansa’s 747-8i, but wanted to figure out a way to fly in the First product (it’s amazing, as you know). The cabin on the flight I am on (in a few days) is still empty and so I was curious what my options are except for paying the full difference between my fare and the First fare. For example, if I can make it a C or D fare, then I could use a UAL global upgrade or miles to fly First, and that would be ideal. But unfortunately simply changing the fare code is quite expensive and required on my entire itinerary.
Any ideas? Does LH do cash upgrades to First at the airport or something similar? I called Lufthansa and they suggested the bidding program, but even the agent didn’t know that the program is only for Economy plus.
