In Transit in PTY
Greetings, Lucky!
I will be doing a LAX-MIA-PTY-MIA-JFK-LAX mileage run next week. The MIA-PTY-MIA portion of the itinerary will be completed in one day as I will be departing MIA for PTY in the morning and leaving PTY back to MIA in the afternoon.
After arriving in PTY, I plan to remain in the secured area of the airport to wait for my departure flight back to MIA. I believe I would technically be in transit. Based on your experience, would I need to clear immigration in PTY before I am allowed to board my flight back to MIA?
Thank you in advance for your help!
Hi @Traveler Cooper, and welcome! Panama City has all airside connections, so you won’t have to go through immigration or security. There is a secondary security check at the gate, so that will be the only formality.
The Copa Club can be accessed via Priority Pass — it’s a pretty easy airport for mileage runs.
Thanks very much, Tiffany, for your informative response to my PTY question and the tip to access the Copa Club. Priority Pass is indeed one the great perks of having the Citi Prestige card.
