Hyatt Qualifying Night Credit for Points/Free Cert

Hyatt Qualifying Night Credit for Points/Free Cert

    Good Day,

I booked a Hyatt room using my free Night certificate that I attained after reaching Explorist. However, I got an email from Hyatt Customer service, stating points stays are not counted towards qualifying night. However, Based on your Article, https://onemileatatime.com/hyatt-counting-award-stays-to-status/
I thought I was able to get a qualifying night. Can you let me know where I could find the correct wording. This is what I found in their Policy
    (i) Tier-Qualifying Nights. A Member may earn awards based on the number of nights the Member (i) stays at a Hyatt hotel or resort; (ii) pays an Eligible Rate or redeems a Free Night Award; and (iii) associates his or her valid Program membership number with the reservation (either at the time of reservation or check-in or by requesting retroactive credit for the night in accordance with Hyatt’s procedures) during the applicable measuring period (each a “Tier-Qualifying Night”).

In the past my free nights have counted. I would check your counter after your stay.

I sent Hyatt Customer service an email with the above Policy note, and then they updated the Counter. But no apology from them
