Help with Singapore Air Award Travel
I am trying to book Singapore Airlines award travel with Chase UR points and AMEX MR points. I do not have any points in my SQ PPS account and they wont let me book the waitlist without points in my bank. Is there a way around this? or is there a way if they dont approve my waitlist i will get my points back? I dont want to convert points until I can confirm the booking. Historically,i was under the impression you can waitlist, but when you get the email to confirm the booking you can transfer points and proceed.
Any recommendations, ways around this or any advice? or if Anyone knows good deals/award space open for SFO to Delhi, it would be much appreciated.
Unfortunately not. You have to transfer points to create a waitlist. You can then use the points for other awards and transfer in fresh points when your waitlist clears.

Not sure of the time of year you are looking or if you are flexible on where you fly out of but I recently found and booked good award seats on Singapore Air to Delhi out of LAX.
You can waitlist for several flights, but you need enough points for the flight you are waitlisting. (If the flight you want requires 150K miles and you transfer in 150K points, you can waitlist for several flights at that rate, it doesn’t use the points until you accept the ticket).
As to waitlisting, it is a total crapshoot. Sometimes they open far in advance, most often, it is close to travel, sometimes not at all.
