pstm91 DiamondFlying JFK-Chengdu with a layover in Guangzhou. I try to always give myself at least 3 hours but I don’t have much choice in this case… Is 2 and a half hours enough time for a transfer there?

That should be enough time. You have to clear immigration in Guangzhou as the flight to chengdu would be from the domestic concourse
