Getting into the Al-Safwa lounge?

Getting into the Al-Safwa lounge?

  1. phize

    Hi All,

I have a paid QR J ticket from ARN – SIN this December. I have a long layover in DOH, and was wondering how I could get access to the Al-Safwa lounge? I have a lot of BA avios. Does it work that I book a Doh – Dxb flight on avios and then just not take the flight?

I am fine losing those points for the lounge.

    Thank you.

That should work as long as you book into F.

Maybe if you lengthen your layover in DOH i.e. your flight from ARN-DOH gets in at 1:10 AM and your DOH-SIN flight leaves at 8:40PM you could fly RT from DOH-DXB on a morning flight from DOH-DXB (departs ~8am) and with the return on the all-business a319 flight (leaves DXB at 4:30 pm.) You would have a bit of time in Dubai so, maybe you could explore a bit. This is all under the assumption that there will be seats of course.
