Flight change for SFO delays

Flight change for SFO delays

  1. Babaghanoush85 Member

My wife is scheduled to fly home on MCO-PHX-SFO next week. The PHX-SFO leg has been consistently delayed several hours since the construction there started.

I did find availability on a flight from PHX – SJC thru BA. So she’d just get off in PHX and abandon her leg to SFO.

Any recommendations on whether I should notify AA about this?

I’d certainly ask AA. Both UA & DL have issued some waivers so maybe AA will follow suit soon. DL just issued theirs today.

I selfishly hope this gets cleared up before I’m due to travel there next month to make an international connection on AA/QF!

Thanks. What does a waiver include? Forgot to add before that the original flight was bought through the CSR portal.

The waiver usually allows you to change booking dates within a specified time frame or to change the routing. In this case you’d think changing SFO to SJC is a reasonable request though you’d have to see what AA offers, if anything.

For what it’s worth, my girlfriend flew home on United from SFO yesterday. The flight was delayed 2+ hours all weekend, but then hers yesterday was not only on time, but she landed 20 minutes early. Go figure.

Your backup plan sounds smart, but just saying you never know what could happen!
