Etihad – switching the flights on the same day

Etihad – switching the flights on the same day

  1. Anonymous Guest

I booked First on Etihad (JFK- Abu Dhabi route) using AA miles before the devaluation (however, the flight itself is scheduled for the date after the devaluation). Unfortunately it’s not A380 but rather their Jet-configured 777 that leaves much later in the day. Actually, the aircraft itself is not that important to me, but the departure/arrival times are, and it happens that A380 leaves/arrives at a MUCH more convenient time.
Supposedly, the day before my scheduled flight I find the guest reward availability for A380 on Etihad’s site. My question is – is it possible to switch to this earlier flight (it costs the same in terms of miles than the 777) keeping the class (First) the same? It’s the same day, just different time.
If it is possible – who do I call on such short notice? – AA? (since I booked using their miles). Or Etihad? I am not sure if AA can do much the day before the departure.
Also- if it’s AA, would it cost me more in miles since the flight is scheduled after the devaluation occurred?
    thank you!!!
