Emirates touch screen controller

Emirates touch screen controller

I have heard by a few people that the older gold/gray touch screen controller on emirates is a bit laggy and slow. I’ve seen on newer Emirates aircraft, the controller looks more like a tablet/iPad,is this newer one more responsive and faster? Thanks

When it comes to first class, the controller which looks like iPad works almost like an iPad :p

I hate the touchscreen/tablet controller, and find it annoyingly slow, and I think I’ve only flown on new planes.

But I almost never use the IFE on any aircraft, so might not be the best person to compare. :/

@Tiffany do you carry your own entertainment or just work through flights?

@Gaurav — Both, I guess. I generally work, and then have my Kindle. I don’t find television/movies relaxing, so will typically just have the map on while I do other stuff.

I wonder what @Lucky ‘s opinions are on this because in his trip reports I’ve seen both variants on his emirates flights
