Emirates switched one my my segments on an upcoming trip to the new high-density A380 without first, so I was downgraded to business. They operate another daily flight, which does have first class, however, there is no award space available on it (despite the fact that they are selling at least 9 first class seats). Does anyone know if there is any chance that I’ll be able to switch to the other flight? Perhaps at check-in? In the lounge?

Is this an award or a paid flight? If it’s a paid flight, I’d call EK and see if they can switch your flight. If it’s an award, did you book using AS? If you did, I would call AS and EK on a 3 way call and see if both sides can come to a solution in your favor.

Agreed. You booked first, you should get to fly first, it might just take a few calls to make that happen.
