Emirates First or Etihad First, worth the effort?

Emirates First or Etihad First, worth the effort?

  1. Anonymous Guest

    Hi all,

In November I will be going to Dubai MAN-DXB, flying Business. I fully intend to upgrade one leg to First with a mix of Skywards and Amex points.

Having read the reviews on here I’ve seen the First Appartments on Etihad which look fantastic. For me to experience that I would need to fly LHR-AUH which involved getting a train from York to Kings Cross and staying overnight in London. On the return trip I may not have enough time to get a train back to York the same evening so would require either another night’s stay in London or connect LHR-MAN and then a train from Manchester to York!

Quite simply, is it worth all that or do I just go Emirates like usual?

    Thanks!

Personally, I think EY F A380 is worth experiencing once, though in your situation, it’s more complicated. If you do have the time and the funds, go for it! I believe EY has multiple frequencies for AUH-LHR ono the A380. I know that one arrives into LHR very early in the morning – could that work for you?

Why not just fly first one way and then business to/from MAN the other way?

Time and funds would allow it, it would just be the inconvenience of transferring back up North. If it’s worth it I’ll put some more serious thought to it, although it obviously depends if they have any upgrade seats available…

I did look at that but the DXB-MAN flight times are awful unfortunately. I’d rather have a transfer LHR-MAN than get up in the middle of the night.
