Dulles (IAD) to Bangkok (BKK)

Dulles (IAD) to Bangkok (BKK)

Article 7/29/2015 on buying ff miles was good, and wife and I want to fly from Dulles to Bangkok in Jan 2018 for 3 weeks, in Business or First. Any updates or suggestions?

    Thanks

American is running a sale on miles at the moment so you can fly Cathay or JAL from the US to BKK. You’d need to find a domestic award to connect from IAD/DCA/BWI to a city that’s served by CX or JL. Or you can fly AA to HKG from LAX or DFW, if you manage to find saver space.

Ideally you want to make sure space is available before purchasing that quantity of miles. American miles are well-suited for this, as you can put the award on hold for up to five days while you purchase the needed points.
