Do AA tickets purchased on StudentUniverse, earn miles based on distance rather than price ?
A recent flight I just took, awarded me miles based on distance rather than price, I called Advantage, but they weren’t very clear about how and when this happens, do any of you know how this works. Is it only for domestic or also for international fares; are all flights eligible ? Thanks.
Might have been a special fare type. My JFK-MXP-JFK flights were credited based on distance flown even though it was after the new earning scheme took place. Award miles were awarded based on the special fares chart – https://www.aa.com/i18n/aadvantage-program/miles/earn/special-fares.jsp. I booked the ticket back in April when Tiffany posted about fantastic fares to Milan.
It could be a consolidator fare.
