Thanks to Tiffany’s gorgeous pictures, my significant other has declared that our next points adventure will be to the Maldives. We’re probably looking at a 2017 timeframe. We’d like to travel at least J class, maybe even F one way.

I’ve got about 120,000 AA miles and have the Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select card and just took advantage of the Citi Prestige Bonus so I’ve got about $65,000 Thank You points.

My question is where to concentrate my purchases. After devaluation, it’s going to take 180,000 for each of us for J tickets. Is my goal to get to 180,000 on each card? Or should I start using the Prestige card exclusive (which I should accumulate points faster on) since I already have enough AA points for one leg of the trip?

@Hoosier–I’m assuming this is a typo but you have $65,000 in TYP or 65,000 TYP?

You’re right. Typo. I’ve got 65,000 TYP. I’ve also got 37,000 Chase points (which I had literally forgotten about) and was thinking if picking up a Chase Sapphire Preferred to get that bonus, but I don’t think diversifying more will help me.
